Camp Ribbonwood is a new rustic retreat and is ready for guests as of May 2013. It offers tranquility, privacy and a close to nature experience. Our motto is "you won't see us unless you need us" and we take our guest's privacy very seriously. We want it to be a place for people to unwind, unplug and relax .

This unique safari tent cabin is located on a private ranch near Warner Springs, California which is a beautiful, remote rural area midway between San Diego and Los Angeles. The 16x20 heavy canvas timberframe safari tent was made by Colorado Yurt Co., is supported by native incense cedar trees that were killed in the Cedar Fire of 2003. The bathroom and kitchen area are made from recycled pine planks we collected from a cabin remodeling project . All the furniture in the tent was handmade by us or picked up during our travels. There is a hot tub and charcoal kettle BBQ with Pizza oven attachment so bring your favorite ingredients for Pizzas. We are pet friendly......we love dogs and provide a fenced yard for them to run free, be dogs and enjoy the beauty of the place. The deck is fenced so you can control their wanderings or you can let them access the large fenced yard and everything is fairly pooch proof .

Camp Ribbonwood is most suitable for two people and offers one queen bed . Insects are negligible but the area is frequented by deer, turkey, quail, bobcat and fox. There is no town or store within 6 miles and the main activities in the area are hiking, mountain biking, fishing and boat rental at Lake Hemet or Diamond Lake, horseback riding, kayaking, birdwatching, wine tasting at one of the 3 fantastic family run vineyards, sky sailing in a glider, visiting nearby Old Town Temecula, eating pies in Julian, taking a tram ride in Palm Springs , hiking a section of the Pacific Crest trail or exploring beautiful Palm Canyon in Borrego Springs just to name a few. and then of course there are the old standbys to pass the time........napping, reading, playing fetch with the dog and gazing out at the view are always worthwhile !

  • Superb Peaceful Retreat

This was an awesome, quiet getaway. A perfect niche between camping and staying in a cabin. There are enough luxuries to make it comfortable without losing that rugged feel that i love. A superb excursion that i'd recommend to anyone.

  • Camp Ribbonwood is a hidden gem!!

This amazing little get away was everything we hoped for! The safari type home itself had every amenity you could think of, including a great kitchen, and relaxing hot tub, but was still backwoods, private, and surrounded by wilderness. We especially loved that the property was fenced in and we could bring our Great Dane and Boxer. And Laurie was also very accommodating, we can't wait to book again!

  • Amazing, quiet, little spot!

You have no idea how awesome this little place is. Laurie thought of everything when putting this tent-cabin together. I wouldn't call it a Yurt per-se, only because it's much more than that (though "glamping" works). The hot-tub, view, trials, and amenities were all amazing. The only bad thing was driving back to the city and having to hear my girlfriend beg me to turn the car around so we could stay there for the rest of the week! Thanks Laurie for this great getaway...we definitely will be back!

  • Paradise Safari Cabin

I can't say enough wonderful things about this quaint little gettaway. I've never been into camping but wanted to be as close to nature and away from the city as possible. Well that's exactly what we got! An amazing deck overlooking the mountains, complete privacy and silence, a wonderful hot tub, and even a flat screen tv inside if you want to cuddle up near the fire and watch a movie!
Laurie and Lane: Thank you so much for letting us stay at your little slice of heaven in Warner Springs!

    Owner Response: Lisa and Patrick,
thanks for leaving the cabin so clean and the wonderful's nice to get validation that even though it is a tent, it is definitely not roughing it. Hope to see you and the doggies back here again soon !

  • Amazing

Date of Stay May 9, 2013 Helpful votes:2/2. Amazing. How amazing? I hadn't even checked out and had already booked a return visit. The perfect romantic getaway. Nestled within several secluded acres against the Cleveland National Forest. Clean - casual - chic. Laurie and Lane were the perfect hosts. Close enough to be on site should something go wrong (which it didn't) yet far enough away to truly feel alone. Perfect for pets with a fenced-in deck/yard and plenty of local hiking trails. A lot of craftsmanship and design have gone into making this property special and it shows. Perfect refuge to come to after a day of hiking the local trails or just touring the pastoral countryside in this area. We didn't go out to town that much but if this is your preference Temecula is a half hour one way with Julian a half an hour the opposite direction. This is not a hotel. This is not an Inn. This is not a B&B. This is a tent cabin with running water, electricity, full kitchen, gas fireplace, large old fashioned bathtub and a modern toilet. If it gets too hot during the day roll up the flaps of the tent and let the breeze off the local mountains cool you down. At night there are screens to keep the bugs out. Upscale camping at it's finest. This is a true find and I/we could not have been happier or give a more glowing review.

Owner Response: Thanks was a pleasure having you guys and we created the property with people like you in mind who love to hike and explore the area with their were our first guests and it is good to have the validation . BTW, we fixed the faucets ! See you soon Laurie
